It was quite refreshing to see a Malayalam comedy film take digs at a religious establishment quite liberally. Title: Ardhanari - Hit New Malayalam Full Movie 2013. But I think the Kunchacko - Biju Menon starrer is also a quite brilliant satire of religion especially Christianity. They show a variety of female characters-some of them are portrayed as strong, some weak, some independent and some flawed, some flirty and most importantly real.Romans is usually regarded as a screwball type of comedy just like the film it borrows its core plot from, We're No Angels(1989) (which is comparatively very forgettable imo). Another thing about Malayalam cinema is that it portrays women in a real way and does not unnecessarily do item songs and women do not show up without any reason, even when the script does not demand it. Whether it is caste, religion, sex, drugs, adultery, they do not shy away from exploring these subjects in their films. The beauty of Malayalam cinema is that it takes things that happen in everyday life but are not talked about and brings it out on screen. Their screenplays are not hurried and fast-paced at all. The recent Malayalam movies make you invest in the character and the plot and by the end, you will be rooting and relating to the character to such an extent that the character becomes a part of your life. They have also realized that it cannot be a one-man show anymore and Malayalam actors do not shy away from sharing screen space with other actors if the plot demands it. There was a phase in Malayalam cinema when their movies would have actors that portray actors having almost supernatural like powers, but now they are moving to show characters that have more realistic stories. Malayalam movies have a very unique way of conveying a storyline and a few Malayalam movies that won good amounts of awards and appreciation from the audience as well. When it comes to Malayalam cinema, many Malayalam movie enthusiasts prefer to talk about vintage Malayalam movies and they are considered to be the best. It is also one of the most entertaining mediums and it can leave us spell-bound with its aesthetic and artistic values. Cinema has the power to change the way the world thinks as we can see the journey of a character and what he goes through and our emotions and feelings are invoked.
